Privacy Policy
- Everything stays in your browser until you choose to send it to ClickUp.
- Data goes to one place only: ClickUp’s API (
api.clickup.com), using your own token. - The developer runs no servers for this extension and receives none of your data.
- No analytics, no tracking, no ads, and nothing is ever sold.
Who we are
Video & Screenshot Uploader for ClickUp (“the extension”) is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox made by Wagih Elbedeawi (“the developer”, “we”). It is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ClickUp. “ClickUp” is a trademark of its owner and is used only to describe what the extension works with.
What the extension handles, and where it goes
| Data | Why | Where it is kept / sent |
|---|---|---|
| Your ClickUp personal API token | To create tasks and upload attachments on your behalf. | Stored only in your browser (the extension's local storage). Sent only to api.clickup.com to authorize your requests. |
| Screen recordings, microphone audio, screenshots and files you add | To attach them to the ClickUp task you choose. | Held in your browser (IndexedDB) until you upload or remove them, then sent to api.clickup.com when you press Create/Upload. |
| Task details you type (title, description, assignees, due date, tags, custom fields, comments) | To create the task or post the comment. | Sent to api.clickup.com when you submit. Not stored by the extension afterwards. |
| Your last-used Workspace / Space / Folder / List | To preselect them next time. | Stored only in your browser. |
| The address (URL) of your current tab | To detect when you are viewing a ClickUp task, so it can be prefilled, and to know whether the page can be captured. | Read locally and never stored or sent anywhere. Only a detected task ID is sent to ClickUp, to look up that task. |
Page access, screen and microphone
- The extension can capture the page you are viewing only when you click a screenshot button. “Area” mode briefly shows a selection overlay on the page, which is removed as soon as you finish. The extension does not otherwise read, collect or change the content of the websites you visit.
- Screen recording and “Screen” screenshots start only when you click them, and your browser always shows its own picker so you choose exactly what is shared. Recording stops when you press Stop, use the browser’s “Stop sharing” control or, in Firefox, close the sidebar.
- The microphone is used only during a recording you start with “Microphone” ticked.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, receive or store your data on any server of ours.
- We do not use analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels or advertising in the extension.
- We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone, and do not use it for any purpose other than the feature you are using.
- We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not load or run code from remote servers.
- The optional “Buy me a coffee” link simply opens the Buy Me a Coffee website in a new tab. The extension sends no data to it; anything you do there is covered by that site’s own privacy policy.
This website
This website (clickup-uploader.macawshub.com) is separate from the extension. It counts visits with
Cloudflare Web Analytics,
which works without cookies and without fingerprinting: it records aggregate page views, referrers, countries
and page-performance timings, and does not store IP addresses or any personal identifiers. The extension itself
loads nothing from this website and never reports anything to it.
How long data is kept
- Recordings, screenshots and files: until you upload or remove them in the side panel. Unfinished screenshot drafts are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Your API token and preferences: until you press Revoke in the extension’s settings or uninstall the extension.
- Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored in your browser.
Once uploaded, attachments and task details are stored by ClickUp and governed by ClickUp’s privacy policy. To revoke the extension’s access entirely, regenerate your API token in ClickUp → Settings → Apps.
Security
All communication with ClickUp uses HTTPS. Your token never leaves your browser except in requests to
api.clickup.com. Anyone with access to your browser profile could read locally stored data,
so use Revoke on shared computers.
Children
The extension is a work tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, note them in the extension’s Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons listings.
